Hi there, I’m Mark Allen! I’m married, a father of two, and a life-long suffering Toronto Maple Leaf fan (nobody’s perfect).

In my work life, I’m a retail guy. I have the great privilege of working with the best retail team in the biz here at Blueberry Commercial. My entire working life has been in retail real estate in one form or another. Before I was a retail real estate specialist and licensed Broker I spent many years in the front lines of 24/7 service and retail businesses. I’ve worked as an advisor and leasing consultant from the Toronto office of Canada’s preeminent retail tenant representation firm helping national, and international brand name retailers and food service names grow their businesses across Canada. I’ve managed and leased shopping centres; completed a “zillion” deals in shopping malls, power centres, strip malls, street front stores, and award-winning waterfront mixed-use developments.

I’ve been lucky. I’ve had the great fortune to work with some of the best retail advisory teams in the country and work for the best retail property developers, and retailers out there. In short; I’ve been there. It’s always been challenging but rewarding, and I truly love it. This experience has given me a strong understanding of the retail business as a whole and my deep empathy for the retail/foodservice entrepreneur and the retail property owner. These people are type-A, gutsy, passionate, and very driven. I understand the passion and commitment it takes to run a successful service or retail business or to manage/own a successful retail property. This understanding has helped me earn the trust of my clients, whether they are retail-commercial landlords, retailers, or restaurateurs.

I cherish those relationships. After all, our business is very simple at its core. It’s all about helping our clients prosper.
